Sustainability Consulting Role: 

Gunnar Hubbard and Michael Pulaski PhD provided principal oversight for the comprehensive sustainable design standards including LEED and SITES.  Facilitated early design workshops and charrettes to engage university stakeholders in developing strategies to optimize both athlete experience and sustainability outcomes.   (Work performed while employed at Thornton Tomasetti)

  • Extensive daylighting with skylights and clerestories tuned for sports activities

  • High-performance pool dehumidification with heat recovery systems

  • Highly tuned pool façade with horizontal shading to maximize daylight and views while minimizing potential for glare.  

  • On-site stormwater management with rain gardens and native landscaping

  • Healthy materials including chlorine alternatives and low-VOC finishes

  • All-electric systems enabling renewable energy supply
