Sustainability Consulting Role:

Gunnar Hubbard collaborated with the design team to respond to the competition brief and then was one of the presenters to the client, Jernhusen, in Stockholm to help win this international design competition. He co-led the comprehensive sustainability strategy with Foster + Partners and Ramboll during the competition and through the first design phase for Sweden’s busiest transportation hub renovation with a goal to be "the most sustainable transit hub in the world". He collaborated with the team to develop innovative solutions for site responsive architecture, high performance envelope, and low embodied carbon solutions. (Work performed while employed at Thornton Tomasetti)

Climate-Positive Solutions Targeted:

  • New pedestrian tunnels and plazas encouraging walking and cycling

  • Integration with bus, rail, and metro transit links
